Deleting your data
1. Delete your account yourself
You can request the deletion of your account and your data at any time, from the Hephira web app.
- Send /account to Hephira on WhatsApp. You get a sign-in link in the conversation.
- Open the Account page, then Delete my account.
- Confirm by typing the word shown on screen.
If you no longer have access to WhatsApp, write to contact@syncham.com and include the WhatsApp number linked to your account. That address also covers any request to exercise your rights.
2. A 30-day window, which you can cancel
Your request does not erase anything straight away. Your account is marked for deletion and permanent erasure is scheduled 30 days later. During that window:
- your account stays accessible, and an active subscription keeps working until its term;
- your open sessions are closed, and you can sign in again with a new link;
- your subscription renewal is stopped;
- you can cancel your request and get your account back untouched.
One thing to know before you cancel: the subscription renewal is not restored automatically. If you cancel your deletion request and want to keep paid access, you have to subscribe again.
Time already paid is not refunded because of the deletion, including on an annual plan. Withdrawal and refund cases are covered in the Terms of Use.
3. What is erased
When the 30 days are up, an automated job permanently erases:
- your meals, their photos (every stored copy) and their nutrition analyses;
- your weight history, your goal, your age, your height, your sex and your activity level;
- your meal templates, your reminders, your preferences and your login sessions;
- your name, your email address, your country and your time zone;
- your export requests and the matching archives;
- your subscription history and the payment identifiers held by Hephira.
If a subscription is still active at that point, it is canceled immediately.
Technical cost measurements are kept after being dissociated from your account: the link to your identifier is erased, and they can no longer be traced back to you.
4. What remains, and why
One technical row stays in our database. It holds nothing more than your WhatsApp number, the end date of your free trial, your language and your unit system. Everything else is emptied and the account is marked as deleted.
So your number is not erased, and we would rather say so plainly.
The reason is the free trial. The WhatsApp number is what identifies an account at Hephira. If that row disappeared entirely, the same number would look like a newcomer and could start another 7-day free trial, as many times as wanted. The Terms of Use limit the trial to one per person: keeping that identifier is what makes the limit real.
In practice: once erasure is final, writing to Hephira from that number does not reopen an account. To come back, write to support@hephira.com.
5. Backups
Erasure covers the live databases. Our encrypted backups may still hold a copy of your data until backup rotation replaces them. They are not consulted in day-to-day operation, and erasure is reapplied if a restore ever takes place.
6. Export your data before deleting it
Erasure cannot be undone. If you want to keep a copy of your history, request an export first: Account page, then Export my data.
You get a single-use download link on WhatsApp, valid for 7 days. One export request is possible every 24 hours. The archive holds your meal history, your weight history, your profile, your preferences, your subscription data and the photos still available.
